Developing a Six-acre Garden
A New Border
Not every garden need be transformed overnight, though having
an overall plan can prevent duplication and time-wasting
ventures. A large garden, such as this six-acre Gloucestershire
garden has been developed in stages with planting strengthened
or completely overhauled, beds and borders deepened and
reshaped to allow for greater succession of plant interest,
and features such as the pond highlighted and a small sheltered
sanctuary created. All this is tempered with the need to
balance development of a garden with realistic available
maintenance.
